Can you help? Now that the basics of the Visitor Center and park's exterior are completed, we are ready to concentrate on the next level of park improvements plus on developing public exhibits and programming. We are looking for volunteers and funding (grants or donations)to enable us to complete these projects:
Help us to make it easier to visit the Park by improving access to the Museum and the Visitor Center. The improvement will allow access to existing ADA parking and more spaces to accommodate increasing numbers of visitors. Approximately 130 feet of fencing is needed including two vehicle gates and one pedestrian gate.
Be a good steward, inspire curiosity and promote discovery, Your donations and support helps "link us all together."
Visitors come to learn about Heritage Park's features, Cañon Museum's historical treasures, and the Chamber of Commerce's regional travel destinations.
Cost will be approximately $4,500.
Wildlife Viewing Station
Help us provide wildlife-viewing opportunities such as an accessible observation deck. This will enable Park visitors to safely observe our desert riparian ecosystem with native endangered fish and wildlife.
We'll be able to increase the enjoyment of visitors viewing the aquatic environment while maintaining a healthy stream bank and reducing trampling of vegetation. Water edge vegetation offers wildlife cover including nesting areas for birds.
Cost will be approximately $40,000 (includes permits, materials, and labor).
Training to Go!
Help us design and create a training kiosk, handouts, and activities that we can take to schools and other events. We can use the same riparian graphic that we have on the wall of our Visitor Center. In addition to the graphic, we would have programs, text and other graphics that related the riparian story of our area.
Cost will be approximately $10,000 for kiosk and training design and fabrication.
Have It - Protect it!!
Help us protect the Park. Just like home security systems, the main benefit of surveillance cameras at the Park would be to increase public safety and prevent property damage. Cameras can be used as a way to keep an eye out for any crimes that are being committed. Additionally, crimes can be deterred before they even begin in some cases. If something suspicious is seen in an area, the appropriate authorities can be contacted.
Cost will be approximately $15,000 (includes permits, materials, and labor).
